Formerly the Old Planter's House, this has been transformed into one of Owensboro's Good Hotels. This transformation has been brought about by the untiring efforts of its present Manager, Miss Arria Humphrey. Here, one will find comfortable rooms, some of which have baths, also hot and cold water in every room. Hotel Drake was re-christened in June 1930 and newly furnished. It has fifty rooms with the rates being: $1.25, $1.50, and $2.00.

Miller Bros and Co began business in 1895 under John A and Joseph W Miller. First located at 111-113 Frederica, they later moved here to 118-120 Frederica. This was the city's largest dealer in live and dressed poultry and supplied the best restaurants and homes with their products.
